dinner for two - midtown west 40s

I want to wind up at kyotofu for dessert. where can we go before for a bite to eat. nothing too expensive but good food on 8th or 9th ave, mid to upper 40s.

    Le Madeleine is nice, I think, on 43rd just west of 9th, across from Esca.
