Vegetarian Tasting Menu..someplace nice?

Is there such a place/thing as a vegetarian tasting menu at a nice-ish restaurant? I'm not so worried about the $. It's more important that it is vegetarian..not necessarily vegan.

JOE'S in Venice is absolutely amazing. I've had it several times. You can call ahead and inquire what the vegitable is that the tasting is centered around - always an inseason tasty vegie. I've had the beet one twice, and both times I loved it.

Hatfields on Beverly has a veg. tasting menu. It's not on the menu but they CAN accomadate. I am vegan and although they could not do a tasting menu for me they made me the best vegan dish I have ever had--and it was a totally spontaneous creation!

      yum.

I had a very good one at Patina, but it was a few years ago so I don't know if they still do it.

Il Grano has vegetarian tasting menus if you're in the mood for Italian. They really shine when it's tomato season, but I'm sure they'd be good now as well. Last time I was there the vegetarian tasting menu was 5 courses for $49.00.

Chef Fraser of Grace has always accomodated our vegetarian members of the party whenever we visit. The whole table will have the standard chef's tasting menu, and the vegetarians get their share of the love as well. Fantastic food all around, if you can manage the price.

Melisse on Little Santa Monica Blvd. in West LA (just West of Century City) has a lovely, delicious vegetarian menu. So does Joe's Restaurant on Abbott Kinney Blvd. in Venice.

I think you are thinking of La Cachette based on the location you're describing.

In addition to Melisse, Patina will oftentimes put together a vegetarian tasting menu.
