Meyer lemon alert

Decent selection at Whole Foods River St. this past weekend. Not at fragrant as the fresh ones I plucked off the trees in California, but passable. Almost $4/lb though!

If anyone knows where to get the really large and fragrant kind, I'm all ears.

I have been seeing them at TJ in Coolidge Corner and Mem Drive in Cambridge. The price was better than Whole Wallet, but I was not sure of the quality so have yet to try them.

Arax in Watertown had gorgeous ones for $1.49 for a four-pack. They were perfectly ripe and juicy.

Got a great one about a week ago from Formaggio in Cambridge. You may rest assured they won't be winning any price wars.

Check with Russo's. If they have them in, they will be surely less expensive than Whole Foods.
