Fish and Chips along QEW

Someone once told me while eating fish and chips at chippies about a place that he thinks has great Fish and Chips. I remember it was along the QEW between Toronto and Niagara. Somewhere near Port Credit, or Burlington or Stoney Creek. I can't remember. I think it was near or on the Lake so south of the QEW. Any suggestions?

    1. Best authentic scottish fish and chips is The Thistle in Burlington.

I'll second The Thistle in Burlington (excellent tea, too) but also put a vote in for Caz's Fish and Chips in Oakville -- just off the QEW, in the big old mall with the Chapters and Toys R Us in it at Dorval.

      2. I used to work within walking distance of Caz's in Oakville and give it a thumb's up for sure. Just off the QEW and the menu has a lot more options than the typical Fish & Chips strip mall experience... and is clean and has a decent sized and comfortable dining room.

Never had anything less than fresh and well cooked fish there...

        1. I think it might be hutch's fish and chips on lakeshore stoney creek, really good fish and chips nice thick piece of halibut highly recommed

I agree. I love Hutch's fish and chips...have been going there since I was a kid. It's just off of Centennial Parkway in Stoney Creek. Get off of the QEW and head North toward the lake and then West at the next intersection....can only go east or west at that point. Just around the bend on the Right hand side. Order at the counter and listen for your order number.....lots of tables with lake views. They also serve ice cream in the back room....I believe it's still from Stoney Creek Dairy. I could be wrong about the ice cream I haven't been this year yet......I don't live in the area any more and have to make a special trip to go, so I don't get there as often. But I'd highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys great fish and fresh cut chips.
