Valentine's Day

I'm a bit surprised I havent seen more posts about this, being so close to Valentine's Day. What are some good restaurants that have that romantic atmosphere without the outrageous prices (i spent almost $200 on dinner last year)? I'd love to know about some out of the way places that wont be as crowded as the more popular places. Without sacrificing good food of course. And i wouldnt mind driving a ways either.

  1. If you don't mind driving, I love L'Auberge Provencale. Very romantic and the food is great.

It might be crowded Valentines, though. It's a beautiful B&B, too. I don't know if there will be many places that won't be packed on Valentines, if it's romantic.

    1. I know Dino is doing a special menu and if you can get an intimate table it can be very romantic.

      1. My sweetheart is the home chef, so for VD I'll take over the cooking duties and grill a NY strip steak, serve it with a wild mushroom brandy cream sauce, roasted asparagus, and scalloped potatoes au gratin. And we'll wash it down with some fine Bordeaux from the 1980's. And all (wine excluded) for less than the cost of a restaurant dinner for two.

Awww, how sweet. I'd love for that to happen, unfortunately the bf isnt very handy in the kitchen... and I'm certainly not cooking, considering it my day off.

        2. I've never had a good restaurant experience on Valentine's Day. Even places that normally aren't crowded, are. I stay HOME even if it means ramen!
