Killer onion rings?

lisabee Jan 29, 2007 07:30 AM

Anybody know where to find really good onion rings (not "loaves" or "strings") in the city? I have been so disappointed lately with onion rings that look good, but taste only of grease and salt.Thanks.

Have you tried the ones at Moody's? Thick and crunchy. Good burgers too.

    Moody's Pub
    Broadway and Thorndale

The Matchbox (Ogden & Chicago) is a great little bar that serves food from the restaurant next door. While I have never been to the restaurant I think their onion rings are oustanding. Freshly battered and fried to perfection. Nice beer selection as well.

If you get to the western burbs, go to Pappadeaux in Westmont - next to Route 83, north of Ogden Avenue. Best onion rings in the known universe.

Everything else - especially the seafood - is also top-notch.
