Whole Foods in my area has buffalo milk yogurt. I find it wonderfully creamy with a pleasant tangy flavor. It is NOT low fat, I think it has about the same calorie content as whole milk yogurt.

I suspect that buffalo mozzarella and buffalo milk may not come from the same animal, but I'm not sure. American buffalo are bison, I think the Italian buffalo is a water buffalo. The only true buffalo is the Cape buffalo, found in Africa.

hmm, thats interesting...youre right, i mean i eat buffalo meat (american bison) all the time and now that i think about the yogurt i wonder if its from that animal or the water buffalo, like what i THINK buff mozz in Italy comes from...good call.

No, American bison are not water buffalo. We have a big herd down the block, connected with a local restaurant. I believe bison are just raised for meat, and water buffalo are only raised for milk.
