Yatka Mein Soup

When I was a kid, every Chinese restaurant in the area had a soup on the menu called Yatka Mein Soup. It was basically noodle soup with strips of shredded pork. The noodles were always flat, long, and maybe 1/8" wide. With one exception - South Pacific in Newton - I don't see it around at all anymore. Does anyone know of any restaurants in the area that still make this soup?

Thanks.

They have this on the menu at Golden Tample in Brookline....I've never eaten or seen it so can't tell if it's what you're after.

There is a place near Providence, RI that has "Yatka Mein" on one of three menus, the "Szechuan and Hunan Style" menu. Here are links to all three:

        1. Szechuan and Hunan Style - http://www.luckyandpearl.com/americanmenu.php
        2. Dum Sum - http://www.luckyandpearl.com/dimsum.php
        3. Chinatown Style - http://www.luckyandpearl.com/chinesem...

It's worth a trip from Boston for the stir fried fish with tofu as well as others.
