Lakeland/Polk County

Anyone know of any "must try" places in Lakeland or Polk County?

I have been to Tapatio's and I thought the food was very good for mexican. It was really crowded at lunch.
Also, I only mentoned the gyros at Salem's, but they have really good fried shrimp and wings too.

Been to Tapatio's on South Florida...it's their 2nd location and food was was very good, but service was sketchy

Thanks for the tip on Salem's...I drive by there all the time and have always been curious

Will have to try the Terrace

Does anyone know if Harry's (the New Orleans Harry's by Munn Park) is worth the price?

Have no idea what type of food or price range you are looking for....
Can recommend the Terrace Hotel - downtown Lakeland for a lovely setting and good food, not cheap....nice Sunday brunch menu.
The second is an Asian place called Gosh! which serves up sushi and decent pho...but have only tried it once.

Try Salem's in Lakeland for their Gyros and Fries. It isn't fancy, but it is always good.

Tapatio (perhaps Tapatio's) is an excellent Mexican restaurant in Lakeland, with a huge menu, authentic specialties, and extremely cheap. I work there only one day a week and was driven by a co-worker, so I'm afraid I don't know exactly where it is.
