crawfish

Im going to New Orleans in about 2 weeks does anyone know of any places that would serve good boiled crawlfish?

We order from Deanie's in Metarie (and have 40 lbs shipped up north - they're awesome) and on our last visit to NO, just getting off the plane, stopped and got some before getting into the city. I really liked them.

Crawfish are just now coming in so U will pay dearly for them...althiough I like Acme the crawfish prices are usually some of the highest in town even in season

Frankie and Johnie's is open. Was there a week ago and they had crawfish (but had run out an hour before I got there). Also, if there was ever a place I couldn't be happier about the smoking ban! I can finally smell my food in that place.

Yo Mama's on St. Peter across from Preservation Hall has some of the best I've eaten (and I'm Cajun). I passed by yesterday and the size was fairly good. They have them at 1:00, 3:00, and 6:00 on Fri., Sat., and Sun.

Yeah, I think you mean crawfish, though they do crawl! And I think Frankie and Johnny's is an excellent choice for that. But, and I have no idea if it is still open post-katrina, Markey's Bar, a great neighborhood bar in the Bywater, was always one of my favorite places for craw fish and pints of Abita.

The Galley on Metairie Rd. is the best...F and J's is good, just different (pepper and sea salt instead of crab boil.

But ifyou can only walk and not drive, acme downtown should have them, and they are usually very good.

what is this crawlfish that you speak of? must be a new type of species. :)

if you want crawfish, they probably have it at acme. frankie and johnnie's (sp?) uptown is also a place that i liked, but not sure how it has been in the past two years.
