My husband and I are visititng Ottawa for winterlude and would like a recomendation for a good drink on a Saturday night in Ottawa. We are in our late-mid twenties so a place to lounge would be great.

If you're going to be downtown (in the market), you could grab dessert at Oh So Good, then walk over to Kinki, the Mercury Lounge or Helsinki for a drink.

There are no deserts in Ottawa. You would have to travel to Nevada for the nearest desert.

For drinks in a pub like setting, The Manx on Elgin St (downtown, within walking distance to the Market area) is good. They also have great food, but I can't remember if they serve dessert. It is very small and can get crowded quite quickly. This stretch of Elgin street will be busy during Winterlude as will the Market if the weather is good. Fairly decent desserts and a glass of wine can also be had north of The Manx on Elgin at The Ritz. It is not a lounge style place but decent. For a place to "be seen" while having a drink, is Social on Sussex Dr. also in the Byward Market. Where are you staying? It may help to point you in the right direction.
