Mezzo Mezzo in San Rafael?

  • 6

Has anyone tried this new Italian-Sicilian restaurant on C Street yet? How is the food, the atmosphere? Birthday celebration dinner worthy?

  1. Hello!
I have been in the restaurant and talked to the owners and chef. Nice decor, and Sicilian entrees. Love the Sicilian dialect on the menu! Slightly unusual and different from the usual cal-ital! They just added lunch, so when I get a chance I will chow down and report!

Will you check to see if it's veg-friendly? I'll call, but maybe you'll beat me to it. Thanks!

OMG ... OMG ... OMG ... This is SO good I just moved it into my top five in my profile ... go, go, go. WONDERFUL food. I can't think of a place that would make your feel more welcome on your birthday. It is like being in the best neighborhood restaurant in Italy .. caring and just making sure your experience is WONDERFUL !!!.

I haven't liked a restaurant this much since the old Bizou.

        VERY veg friendly.

I'm writing up my report now and will copy the menu. Did I mention I LOVE !!! this place?

A little from the Marin IJ

        This is destination worthy.

There is not another restaurant in Napa / Sonoma that I'd be willing to drive until I explore much, much more of this menu.

And San Francisco ... eat your heart out ... you don't have anything this good.

Did I mention I love this place? It really set my ciao bells off.

Thanks. If you hadn't mentioned it, I never would have known to drive by and check it out.

    2. Anyone know the hours?

      1. Lunch 10-3 and Dinner 5-10. Closed Tuesday.

        1. Like so many new places, Mezzo Mezzo came on strong and has more or less fizzled. It was great a year ago, but things have changed. The food is still fresh and pretty good, but the wine list has diminished to 1/10 its original size. Prices have gone up and the menu has gotten increasingly pedestrian. Service has been polite but poor and they always seem to be in the weeds.
