Fill cup with coffee, latte, espresso, etc … 2/3 full.

Shake can and fill the cup with what looks like whipped cream.

Microwave 15 seconds … whipped cream explodes into foam.

Big fun … it’s magic … and tasty … I’m easily amused. Zero calories & fat-free.

It is more of a light cappuccino foam. It can also be sprayed on the drink without microwaving, but it just turns into a thin layer of foam instead of the cloud of foam that comes out of the microwave.

A year ago I was joking on the board that one day El Bulli’s foams would some day filter down to the masses … probably in a whipped cream can … well, it’s here.

This stuff could be microwaved by itself to be used as a foam on a dessert. They have two flavored versions … Madagascar vanilla and hazelnut.

There’s lots of stuff that is now available as sprays. Do you have favorites?

Has anyone tried those salad dressings that get sprayed on?

What is your favorite cooking spray. I liked Trader Joe’s olive oil because there is very little junk in it.

In an after holiday sale, I picked up a can of Land O Lake peppermint whipped light cream for 50 cents. That was good too and had real cream and sugar in it instead of the junk of other whipped cream in a can.
\
However, nothing is as fun as that foam in a can.

Why in the name of all that is holy would someone put espresso in a microwave? There is NO case where putting coffee in a microwave will improve it.

It would be a crime in some circles.

Have you tried it? I'm really looking forward to it every morning now and really hooked on it ... besides ... the chance of me doing latte art at home is less than zero ... the chance of me actually making foam otherwise at home is about the same. Really, the ingrediants are solid. This is definately a repeat item for me.

agreed. latte art is fantastic if you have a worthy machine... and if you do then congratulations... but most of us can't afford that. Having tried this I can say that it's not changing my world, but it's much better than attempting a cappucino with a steam espresso machine.

Additional benefit: for the milk portion you can use whatever alternate milk you like (in my case, almond) and then the spray foam on top. Try making a soy cappucino without this.
