Beverly Hills/W Hollywood reception?

I'll be in L.A. next month and need to host a very informal small reception (12 - 25 people), and want to keep prices low. Two years ago, we stayed on the patio at the Loews in Santa Monica, I ordered about $250 in apps, and we did a cash bar. This time I'm staying closer to Beverly Center, so am looking close to there. Ideally, I'd like to avoid an extra room charge. We are looking at the Meridien, but they said their bar was too small.

The attendees will range from in theirs 20-40s. Good food is a nice plus, but as long as it's not awful or seriously pricey, that's fine.

Any suggestions welcomed!

  1. Simon LA is cool and right next store to Beverly Center, but it might be (very likely) over your price range. In a lower proce range, what about Cha Cha Cha in West Hollywood? They have a fun bar area, very good happy hour. You could probably reserve part of the bar area and order appetizers (my favs include jerk chicken pizza, calamari, yucca fries).

    1. I had a nice reception in the semi-private back room at The Abbey. The food was decent for passed appetizers at a trendier LA place and the drinks were good. The room was very comfortable.
