Is Koi worth going to?

I hear its pretty expensive, is the food and ambiance worth it?

    go for the celebs, not for the food. if you want that style of designer rolls/cooking, id recommend katsuya anyday (the valley one, not brentwood).

      definitely go.
      koi is underrated and gets a lot of undeserved flak.
      yes it is a total scene -- but they also turn out a lot of good dishes, you just have to know what to order.
      so i'll tell you: the three-layer tuna "taco" type thing, the seared albacore w/onions, the miso cod, the rock shrimp tempura, the tuna on crispy rice and ESPECIALLY large quantities of the warm crab rolls. they are absolute heaven.

        Thank you so much!!! I had seen the baked crab roll on the online menu, so now I will definitely get it.
