Restaurant Week

Bar crawl? no way....Restaurant Crawl!!!!!
Since day 1, ive been going at it non-stop....Le Perigord, Aquavit, Craftbar, Alto...tomorrow Kittichai...and who knows what on Saturday.
Any suggestions? im going to a different one EVERY day until its over. Its a Jewish foodie dream come true..haha!

  1. I saw the owner/chef for Porterhouse the other day on Martha Stewart. It sparked my interest to make a reservation. Just an idea : )

        Note that RW does not include Saturday and Sunday. However, there are restaurants that participate in RW, but also offer a 3-course prix-fixe all year round. Two of my favorites that do so are Fleur de Sel ($25) and Devi ($24.07).

        Went for RW dinner to Porter House last night. It was pretty bad. Waitress was horrible. Cesear salad was good. Steak was almost inedible like shoe leather and the fries were hot and crisp. Dessert was again inedible....stale Devils Food cake with absolutely no flavor. Had a good CA Cab Sav for $48. As we walked out we said, "you know the meal was bad when the highlights were the salad and wine." Defnintely choose another place for RW. My meal at Artisanal the other night was FAR better than this.

          1. Went to Jovia last night & it was amazing- highly recommend it- get the Veal Cheeks, Braised Short Rib, and the chocolate mocca dessert. Delicous.

              1. Just had an excellent lunch at Quality Meats... you can see the restaurant week menu on their website. It was great!

                1. Checked-out Alfama last night and they are serving a pretty good selection for dinner.
                  Stand-outs was the Caldo Verde Soup and Meatball appetizers, Bacalau and Marisco Seafood dish for entrees. Desserts were creme brulee with a hint of bay leaves and a walnut something tart that tasted more like oatmeal topped with parmesan. They also have a really good Green Grape / White Wine that's part of there cellar recommendation that went well with their selection and was a bargain for 39 bucks per bottle. Also, discovered that they serve pasteis de natas...a very addictive Portuguese dessert that I love...so, that was a plus! Nice cozy room too.

                      We went there last Friday. It was'nt too bad. The service was great but the food was okay.They has mahi mahi, rib eye and Tofu as mains. For appetizer they had a
                      soup, salad and some shrimp and chicken ravioli. For dessert they had a miniscule portion of lychee flan and some black tapioca pearls with squash dessert in coconut
                      milk with lime sorbet which did'nt go together at all. The entrees were the best part.

                    2. i would be interested to know a recent experience in kittichai coz went i went there over a year ago and thought too bad that the food was bad as it was such a pretty space.
