ISO of Oysters in the OC

A friend of mine asked me if there was a good place to get oysters around here (Irvine/Tustin area) since he really likes them raw and I had no answers.

Taps in Brea (but out of your area)
Try Sushi 5 in Tustin (there is a bunch of reviews, and they serve decent quality oysters at $2.50 per plate)

I second Sushi 5. Those Kumamotos are just heavenly. Dribbled with a little ponzu.

            Here's my review with photos:

Hey! Some friends and actually went to Sushi 5 because of your review. They were out of oysters though :(

The best oysters I have had in Orange county are a bit farther north, at King's fish house in Orange. They have an oyster bar in the back, with a good selection of seriously fresh oysters that changes seasonally, depending on where the best ones are available.

I concur. King's probably has some of the best oysters I've had outside of Providence.

Forgive my ignorance of the OC, I'm not sure how close you are to Santa Monica Seafood (retail store) in Costa Mesa:

Try WildFish on the bluffs. They seem to go through a lot of them and their selection seems pretty good.

There is not much in the Irvine and Tustin area that I know of. However, there are a lot of Japanese restaurants in Tustin that I have not tried. Here are some of the closest places I can think of: Crab Cooker in Tustin, Of course Mortons in Santa Ana(sit in the bar, make it for happy hour and oysters are cheap), Oceans 33 in Mission Viejo Mall, Oysters restaurant in Corona Del Mar. Looking forward to see some other posts. I love Oysters.
