Westchester Steakhouses.....opinions

Taking my son out for 14th birthday on Sat. night. He recently discovered that he loves steak.

Currently have a reservation at Frankie and Johnnies. Have been to Morton's, Flames, Manero's (ugh), Tollgate, Willett, and Ruth's Chris all before. With the exception of Manero's, all of the aformentioned serve a decent to very good porterhouse in nice but what I would consider uninspired settlings. I figured I would try F and J. Anyone have any comments or opinions?

  1. I have been to F and J's. It is OK, but I preferred Willett and Ruth's Chris. Manero's has closed down!

    1. Considering the places you have tried I would suggest the Tango Restaurant in White Plains. Your son’s horizons might be broadened with a few different cuts other than porterhouse. In addition, the sides have options like nothing of the other places you have visited.

      1. F and J is OK. the steaks are not bad but god help the rest of the food they serve. Stay away from the sides unless you like the taste of baby food and flour. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 4.

        1. Thanks for the responses. I think I will do the safe thing and go to Willett. Tango sounds like a good call for another evening.

          1. if he's a yankees fan and $ is not an object take him to Mo's in new rochelle.

Byrd, have you been to Mo's. I have heard that it is VERY expensive. Am told that the operating partner owns an italian restaurant in the area. I don't know any more than that.

the only complaint i've heard is trying to find parking around there. check out the prices on the website.
