"Who's Talking", A Bunch of Heads?
Ok, now what happened to the list of names of "Who's Talking"? Why was it replaced with icons of heads with knives and forks, or those new avatars for those who have chosen to use them?
I don't know people by pictures, I know them by name. I don't want to have to roll over an icon or picture to find out who's on the board. Plus, even if we eventually all decided to bite the bullet and get used to the dreaded avatars (to some of us), they are so small you can't tell what they are. Is it a dog? Is it a christmas tree? Is it a cookie? Oh, it's Cartman from Southpark!
Anyone else want to pipe in with their opinion?

I agree -- it sounds like a good idea in theory but you'll just get those red dotted M's (they don't look like people to me!) -- I'd rather have the names, or at least the names and the profile photos.
All you wanna do is talk talk... talk talk talk talk, all you wanna do is talk talk... (Ah, the 80's.)

"Talking Heads", hahaha. Seriously, I had not noticed that yet. I completely agree with you. Way too much work. Plus, I'd have to use my magnifying glass.

re: jen kalb
What space? The space it took up is now replaced by advertising and "In Stories" and "Overheard in the Boards" sucking up loads of space on the right-hand side. I don't care about all of that. I care about the people on the board, not a 5" advertisement from the Robertson Foundation about global warming.

re: sivyaleah
It was just a list of the people whose names also appear if you scroll down the thread anyway - its not like its a "whose talking now" list - I never felt it was a particularly good use of space - if there is a better use or way (including uses that subsidize the continued existence of this forum or links to editorial that participants might be interested in - why not go for it? Obviously a "better " board might use all the horizontal space for posts, but thats not where we are at right now.
