Will be in the Arcadia-Pasadena area next month. Can anyone suggest a restuarant that serves a good Duck with orange sauce. One of my favorite dish but haven,t had it in years.

La Vie, on San Gabriel Blvd. in Rosemead.

I went there for the first time the other night, and I can't believe it's taken me this long to visit this little gem of a restaurant. The menu is truly a "greatest hits" of classic bistro cuisine: we're talking duck in grand marnier (orange) sauce, poulet a l'estragon (chicken in tarragon), coq au vin, pork tenderloin, trout meuniere...you get the idea. Dinners come with a bowl of the house soup (I upgraded to onion soup gratinee) and a classic butterleaf lettuce salad. Just about everything is under $20 as well. Even had a nice bottle of some Cotes du Rhone for only $21. I can't wait to go back.

The place is located at 2547 San Gabriel Blvd, in Rosemead. It's a few blocks south of Garvey, if I recall correctly. It's EXACTLY what you're looking for.

Duck L'Orange is such an old standard that hardly anybody offers it anymore, certainly not a cutting edge chef; however, there is maybe just one in your requested area:

Stoney Point Restaurant - (West) Pasadena
