Carol's Cafe in S.I.?

I am tentatively meeting a cousin of mine here the end of the week. Is it any good, and if so, what do you recommend?

  1. It's very pleasant, as is Carol. The food is quite good, but not as good as it ought to be at the price.

Get a table away from the plants in the window facing the street. A couple of times, tiny black flies came out of them.

    1. I really enjoy Carol's! My favorite dish is her pasta with lamb and peas. It sounds very simple, but the flavors are just marvelous. and, as an appetizer she does a spicy fried calamari that is phenomenal - truly not your average calamari appetizer.

You can go to pub for a less expensive menu...

I did not know about the pub! Is it open earlier than the restaurant? Thanks..the lamb dish sounds right up my alley!

Hey Angelina, I know this is an old post but did you ever go to Carol's and if so what did you think. When I lived in S.I. this was our favorite place. My wife is taking a 6 series cooking class there now too. I hope to benefit shortly from her newly learned skills!

Hi..just read your post. No, I never met my friend there. Instead she wanted to go to Lupa instead, which is ALWAYS fine by me!!

That's great..a cooking class there? The menu looks great!

My wife has taken a few cooking classes there. So far the benefits from her latest class have been and shallot and mushroom pie and a crab and shrimp stuffed flounder. Unlike anything I have ever had. If the opportunity arrises, go, you won;t be dissappointed.

                Thanks again for your help!!
