La Vecchia...Thoughts?

A friend has suggested La Vecchia in Santa Monica on Main St. for dinner. Why have I never read about this place? I've lived here for 27 years. I'm nervous. Should I be?

I love La Vecchia. My husband took me and some friends out to dinner there a couple of years ago. It's great. They also have a wonderful wine list. I actually had a quite lovely steak when I was there. I couldn't tell you how it was cooked though due to the amazing martinis that they made me while I was there.

I too like La Vecchia. Very convenient and the food is good. Not fabulous. It can be very noisy especially if the bar is hopping. Last time there, I had the cold seafood appetizer (tasty) and a sausage pizza (Great crispy crust but a bit greasy). I have been meaning to try the happy hour there. Has anyone tried it? How are the free apps?

I love La Vecchia and have eaten there at least a couple of times a month for the past couple of years. Is it the best Italian? No. But it's my local and I'm very partial to their pasta dishes. The fresh-from-the-oven bread with warm herby garlicky olive oil is always delicious, and the seafood pasta never disappoints.
