Village Cafe on Washington St. in Newton?

Anyone been? What, if anything, is good?

  1. I have not been due to their hours, breakfast and lunch Mon-Fri I believe. However, several family members have either eaten there or taken out and have very good things to say. I think they do home-style food since I remember hearing meatloaf mentioned from my aunt.

Take it for what its worth, none of them are exactly chowish, but they usually can pick good food.

    1. Stay away! This place is a horrible excuse for a restaurant. The first time I went, the order (eggs and pancakes) took 30 minutes and came out cold. Considering they had just opened, I gave them a second chance a month later, and it was still very bad. Rude servers, and again, the order took 30 minutes even though there were only a few people in there. You're much better off at Cabot's, Talk of the Town Diner, or The Deluxe Town Diner.

      1. I love the fact I'm near this place. It's a great little diner. I've never had anything but a good meal with decent service there. If you're nearby, it's a great breakfast or lunch spot. They make a great French Dip & Chicken Parm.
