Fancy Restaurant Friendly to Kids?

Want to take the family out for a dinner more on the fancy side to celebrate a special occasion. Kids are school aged so very well behaved, but not adventurous eaters. What nicer restaurants have kids menus or are willing to make a pasta with butter, etc? Boston/Brookline/Newton area is best. Thanks!

Also check out the "gastrokid kid friendly restaurant map" --

They haven't posted much for the Boston area yet, but the restaurants posted for NYC and other parts of the country might give guidance.

Another nice place, casual upscale, not really "fancy" but with excellent food and a children's menu is Kouzina in Waban section of Newton.

we've had decent luck with Eastern Standard, but I think earlier is better there.

The Bristol Lounge, in the Four Season Hotel, is very kid friendly (and offers a quality kids menu).

We took our son to Jerne at the Ritz. Nice kid's menu & very accomodating.

Pava in Newton is very family friendly- owner has 3 little kids. Also, we have taken our preschoolers to the Met Club and they were very accomodating. Neither of these places have children's menus but they are kid friendly.Met club has a bar menu with burgers etc and I would call ahead re other options.
