Stoneware butter keeper--love it!
I can't seem to find the thread anymore, but in the last month or two, there was a thread asking if people left their butter out so it would stay soft. I've always worried about leaving it out, worrying it would spoil. But, after I someone in that butter thread mentioned they kept theirs in their butter keeper, I bought a stoneware butter keeper for, I think, $12 on Amazon. I'm very pleased with it. It keeps the butter soft, but not super mushy, and it's very elegant. So, thank to whoever posted the original question and to the folks that replied. It's one of those questions I never even thought to ask. :)
