Wine Tasting and Cooking Classes in DC/VA

My wife and I used to attend a variety of wine tasting and food classes in the DC area (Washington Wine Festival, evenings at the Starland Cafe, French Embassy tastings, etc). It's been a couple of years since we last went to any of these (the Wine Festival in particular became overcrowded).

Any recommendations for 2007 wine tastings and/or cooking classes (in both cases, either one-off events or a series) that you'd encourage me to check out?

    I recently took one of their cooking "classes" after receiving it as a gift, which was basically a demonstration of cooking 6 dishes (5 of which were excellently paired with individual wines). The instructional value was pretty minimal (I wasn't expecting much since it was advertised as a hands-off observation and eat/drink type class), but the food was good and the wines were very good...and best of all they were not at all stingy with them. They also offer, and perhaps focus on, wine tasting events. Worth looking into their calendar at least.
