New Haven deliveries?

I am from Providence, but my best friend is in New Haven for grad school and is going through a really rough time right now. I was hoping to be able to order her some baked goods or something else yummy from a local New Haven bakery or specialty foods store--the only problem is that i have no idea what's around. Does anyone have any suggestions? She is a food fanatic so everything is fair game pretty much.

  1. Try Nica's Market on Orange St.(203-787-5919) I don't know if they deliver, but they may or you could talk them into it. Speak to Joe. Thay have baked goods, sweet and savory, very nice prepared foods, great Cheeses, great fruit, ice cream, frozen Italian desserts and all kinds of yummy stuff. Good Luck!
ps-I know its kinda lame but Stop & Shop has a delivery service called Peapod and you can get anything that they sell at S&S.

    1. I hopw this reply isn't to late. I live in the New Haven area and here are some places that are local that would be able to deliever some good food to your friend. Hope she is feeling better.

There is They are local, just up in Hamden and deliver to the New Haven area. They do great arrangements of fresh fruit.

Also in Hamden is Bon Appetit. They can make you a great basket with a wide selection of stuff from cheeses, baked goods and gourmet items.

There is also Chapel Open Air Market - Papa & Sons. They don't have a website, but there number is 203.624.1285. They delivery daily and have been around for almost 100 years. They can do fresh fruits and other gourmet things. Not sure about baked goods.

      Hope this helps!!

      1. I think Romeo and Caesar's delivers also.
