VGs Bakery in Cardiff. Best donuts I've had in San Diego.

i read that on an earlier post. i know that place, its right by "the office" a local bar.

it always had a lot of people there, so i might have to check it out.

It's all about the blueberry buttermilk bars.

If you feel like a field trip, Mary's Donuts in Santee cannot be beat - it's a mom and pop shop on Mission Gorge, just off the 52 (right where it changes to 125). VG is also good though, and is much closer for you.

I third Mary's in Santee. They are hands down my favorite.

I've yet to try VG's, though I've heard a lot about them.

You might want to also check out Petersen's in Escondido. I've only tried them once and from what I recall they were pretty good, but different than the run of the mill. They are very rich and huge.
