Need either INDIAN or THAI Restaurant in SOUTH BAY FOR BIRTHDAY DINNER

We need a great ATMOSPHERIC as well as YUMMY INDIAN or THAI restaurant in Torrance, Hermosa, Manhattan, Redondo, or Artesia area. I know places like Shan are great food but it's kind of a small dive and for a bday it's just not atmospheric enough. What about CHABA on PCH? Is it possible to get a NICE AMBIENCE and REALLY WONDERFUL AUTHENTIC FOOD for these 2 cuisines? It seems it's either fancy overpriced food or a dump to look at but great eats. Please advise. We need INDIAN or THAI food ASAP! thanks a bunch.

I've never been, but Indian Summer in El Segundo might qualify:

I've never had the a la carte items at Indian Summer but I've been there for their lunch buffet twice and both times were pretty bad. There are a lot more places for Indian in the South Bay with much better food.

I would also recommend Addi's Tandoor. FYI, if you avoid using caps you will probably get more replies on future posts...it's considered "shouting" in these kinds of forums, and no one likes to be shouted at. :)

I think Addi's Tandoor in Torrance might be a good choice. It have a nice small restaurant feel with good decor on the inside for looking a little dumpy on the outside--also, the food is outstanding.
