Sushi in Oaxaca City, Huatulco or Puerto Escondido

Hey Chowhounds!

This is month 6 in a very small town in southern Mexico and I need variety! I have been craving sushi lately and I am willing to drive 4 hours for it! Any recommendations for good sushi in either Oaxaca, Huatulco or Puerto Escondido??

If memory serves, there's a Sushi Itto (chain restaurant) right on the Zocalo in Oaxaca.

While the original Japanese restaurant was destroyed in the storms last year, they've reopened on the main street on Zicatella. It's the only Japanese restaurant on Zicatella (right next to the Chinese restaurant in the new development at the end of the road), and it's just OK, it might satisfy your craving. Their cooked food is better.

Oaxaca has a few sushi places, quality is about the same.

There is a place for sushi in Puerto Escondido, or at least there was last year (and previous year). I can't recall the name, but we enjoyed it. It was on Zicatela.
