NYC Hound first trip down post-Katrina
Hi All -- It pains me that it's taken >2 yrs to get back down to New Orleans . . . will be in town for three nights in March and have done all the reg haunts (Commanders, Brennans, Emerile, Jacque-Imos . . . ) Was hoping you could recommend something in town (not limited to the French Qtr, etc) . . . I'm thinking one night higher-end (a la Emerile's) and maybe some low-key, off-the-map must-sees (like Jacque-Imos a few years back.) Thanks in advance.
Also, I know this is off-topic but new bars, hotels and jazz clubs recommendations are also appreciated.

Go to Delmonico's which is one of Emeril's restaurants. Ask for Saleem when you call and tell him Henry McCaslin sent you there. Go to the French Quarter Bar at The Ritz Carlton and listen to Jeremy Davenport and some great jazz. Stay there. Great hotel. Best restaurants are Galatoire's, go for lunch and ask for Richard the waiter, Bayona, Peristyle, Brightsen's and Clancy's. Bon Appetit.
