Did you try Murray's? - try the West Village store. They have a sheep ricotta salata, according to their web site.
you can search by type of milk at

Three Corners, who are at Union Square on Saturdays (and maybe Weds. as well?), often have it.

Hmm. They did have it. I'll take a look and see if it is hiding somewhere.

              Look for Ricotta Salata.

Ricotta salata is very different than ricotta. not sure which one the op wanted, but they are definitely not the same.

3 places in Brooklyn with great cheese selection: Bierkraft, Fairway in Red Hook, and Sahadi's.

DiPalo's should have it. Or you can head out to D. Coluccio & Sons in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn (60th Street and 12th Avenue I think). I've always found it there.

Murray's cheese is a good option.

My favorite cheese spot is the one and only Fairway.

You know the saying? People fall in love in the cheese isle at Fairway. I never fell in love, but I did meet Ed Koch. He was adorable.

There is (or was for months) a person at the Abdington Sq Saturday greenmarket that had sheep milk ricotta - I seem to remember about $5 a pint.

I get a decent fresh ricotta from the Upper West Side Fairway. I can't remember if it's goat's milk or sheep's milk... but they have domestic and imported (the imported being a ton better- and worth the extra money)

Ideal Cheese - First Avenue (51-52) now sells fresh ricotta. Do not know if it's sheep's milk.
