Timing of dining alone.

If you want to sit at the bar, and you are alone, what is a good time to get to a restaurant? Or, does it matter?
Also, NYC restaurants, are the busier during the week or on weekends?

  1. Earlier is usually better for any restaurant on any day...before seven, certainly, and at some restaurants, before six (if possible).

Weekends always busier than weekdays, Tuesdays are generally considered to be the slowest day of the week.

Sunday evenings tend to be less busy.

    2. Depends on where you are going. If you're downtown/financial district then weekends are much quieter. If you're in the Village then its the weekends that are busier etc.... Whenever I'm on my own for food I generally try to go earlier then later.
