We are driving from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West, and would like to stop for lunch. Does anyone have any fabulous CHOWHOUND suggestions?

I like Morada Bay in Islamorada. Great view, food and drinks. We've also tried Whale Harbor--not bad. It's strange, but somehow you don't remember how the food is when the view is so great! Have fun.

We went to Whale Harbor this past weekend and had the seafood buffet. It was very good, but not much of a view. Go with a big appetite.

I LOVE Bentley's Restaurant, but they don't open until 4pm. It would be worth having a late lunch/early dinner.

I used to love going to Islamorada Fish Company, but the menu is more limited than the one in Ft Lauderdale at Bass Pro Shop so you might be disappointed.

I suggest eat something lite and wait for Bentley's to open, I think it is a destination restaurant for seafood.

I also vote for Morada Bay. The food is very good.

I like Islamorada Fish Company and Morada Bay, too. There's also the Lorelei close by, and Atlantic's Edge at Cheeca Lodge.

I frankly would not recommend Islamorada Fish Company; we had a horrible experience there last summer. The dish I ordered was truly inedible.

I don't know that it's open for lunch, but if it is, I would highly recommend Marker 88. We had one of the most spectacular seafood dinners we have ever experienced--and we eat a LOT of seafood. The yellowtail snapper dishes are extraordinarily fresh, and the preparations are wonderfully innovative. I would recommend any of the dishes shown on the menu to have been featured in a national magazine (I believe the dish I tried was featured in Gourmet).

We stopped by last winter season and it was not open for lunch. Planned to return for dinner as the menu looked fantastic but too many miles got in the way by dinner time.

Try Islamarada Fish Company or Lorelei(sp?) both very good fresh food, especially the fried conch and snapper dishes. On the way to Key Largo on Card Sound Road a place called Alabama Jacks is great!
