Taco Loco in Valley Village (N. Hollywood?)

  • 3

Hey, Hounds. I"m looking for info on Taco Logo on Laurel & Chandler. (Is that Valley Village? Valley Glen? Who the hell knows.) I searched the chowhound archives and found other Tacos Loco but nothing about this one. So what do the hounds say?

  1. I'll be interested to see what people say -- I always go to China Lites in that plaza, haven't been to Taco Loco and only once to Tino's.

And yes, that's Valley Village -- Valley Glen is northwest of Valley Village. We're not North Hollywood, we're not we're not we're NOT! (stamps feet).

      Valey Glen IS Van Nuys!!

My bro lives in "valley village" yet he is directly across the street from "North Hollywood High" go figure. oh, this post has to be about food. The Taco Bell near there is one of the Worst.

    2. Not sure this will help much since it's been awhile since I was there, but since no one else is coming forward...

It's the closest Mexican fast food nearest to me, but I only went there twice and that was around 4-5 years ago when I first moved into the area. Had one of their large tacos there the first time and thought it was passable. The next time there I got an asada burrito and thought it was one of the worst burritos I ever had. After that, I started exploring the other Mexican places nearest me (El Taco Llama in a Burbank/Whitsett minimall, Tacos el Toro on Laurel/Oxnard) and found them to be better, albeit not by much (although I do think the burrito mojado at Tacos el Toro is excellent most of the time). I'd say go with Tacos el Toro if you want to stick to the immediate area, but Casita Taco al Carbon on Magnolia/Bakman just east of North Hollywood Park blows all three out of the water.
