Good American Food around Glen Cove

I live in Glen Cove and would love some suggestions for an American resturant a place where you can get a good steak, burger or salad when your not in the mood for all of the ethnic specialties in the area.

Thanks I have tried Gonzalo and Joes and we didn't think it was that great in the past. I do love their soups. We love their TexMex place on Glen Cove Ave. I'll try Roots thanks for the tip

There is a great new place in Sea Cliff called Roots - it's well prepared American dishes - it has a small menu but everything I tried was great.

What about Gonzalo and Joe's American Cafe on School street? Haven't been in a long time, but I googled it, and see it's still there....I remember it being very good and inexpensive. Have you tried it?
