Best place to get a peanut butter cookie?

ChicagoKat Jan 16, 2007 08:59 PM

A friend's b-day is Friday, and her favorite cookie is peanut butter. We'd like to get an individual cookie with 'happy birthday' or something like that on it. Although, that's not so important. Got to have the best cookie! Any suggestions?? Somewhere downtown would be helpful...but I would travel anywhere.

This may not help, but Sweet Mandy B's on Webster and Racine (Lincoln Park) has the most delicious peanut butter "rice crispy treat" with a layer of chocolate on the top. Its not your average rice crispy treat however, less marshmellow/gooy texture. Unbelievable, worth going even if it doesnt fit what you're looking for.

Carol's Cookies are amazing! Locally they are available at Neiman Marcus on Michigan Avenue and most Whole Foods. They are locally made and are about 2'' thick in the middle! I believed she won a spot on the 10 Best Cookie list people magazine did awhile back.
