Vichyssoise...

Hi

I'd like to take my Mom out for a nice dinner for her birthday, and lately she's been dying for vichyssoise. Does anyone know where in Toronto, or preferably, the West end, that I could take her?

It's nicest on a hot summer day, but when you get a hankering you just have to have it.

I understand Le Trou Normand still serves it year 'round. Having not been since the 80's I couldn't really rec. Was good.

Vichyssoise is really a summer soup as it should be served chilled. I think it might prove difficult if not impossible to find any restaurant who would serve it at this time of year.

Just an idea...

Why don't you take your mom out for a nice dinner, and then surprise her with a big container of homemade vichyssoise. I don't know what your cooking skills are like, but vicyssoise is one of the simplest soups to make.
