Orange County OC Favorite Indonesian / Malaysian / Singaporean place

I'm in love with food from South East Asia, specifically the genre unique to the countries mentioned in the title. I make it to West Covina's Penang occasionally if the craving is expecially bad, but that is such a hike.

Wondering if anyone one knew of a great place espcecially in North OC County area.

Tropika was a huge disappointment. Only the roti canai was vaguely good.

I agree 100%...Tropika was a huge disappointment. In my humble opinion, I feel that some folks may have been (justifiably) very excited that a Malaysian restaurant was finally opening in OC, and let that color their experience. I found their version of the classic dishes to be flat and uninspired, and maybe even subpar. The service on the night I went was completely off-key (timing-wise), unenthusiastic, and unhelpful. Sorry.

Make the effort to go to Yasmin in Alhambra... always great...

Tropika's pretty good. I also like Toko Rame in Bellflower (not in OC, but just a quick hop on the 91 near the 605 interchange). Try the Nasi Bungkus. Well worth the drive.
