7 New Orleans foodies in Paris: specific request
We are seven people in all and I have made a very narrow request so hopefully the locals will have an answer. We are attending a reception on a Sunday afternoon and would like to have a drink before dinner at Dockhan's Hotel near Trocadero. What would be my best choice for a very good dinner nearby in the 16th arr., open on Sundays, without the prices of L'Astrance or Hiramatsu, but with excellent food. I will be with older people so not super trendy but a traditional feel, good service, nice dressy crowd since we will all be rather dressed up yet fun and bustling rather than quiet and dull.
Any ideas at all?
You may want to consider the Relais-Plaza. This is the "little brother" of Alain Ducasse's famous restaurant in the Hotel Plaza Athenée and is located next door to the Plaza Athenée. It may be a little fancier than you want, and it is rather low-key (not real fun and bustling), but it is of high quality and is near where you will be in the Trocadero area. Most importantly, it is open on Sundays. See website:
