Met Club Sunday Supper Surprise
Have been wanting to try the "sunday supper" at Met Club and finally went last night. It is $30 for a three course dinner. Two choices of apps, two choices for entrees and a dessert (no choice).A glass of wine offered for $5.00. Each month is a different ethnic menu. This month is Puerto Rico.
We tried both apps. One was "shrimp croquettes"- a generous six crispy shrimp fritters with two dipping sausces- mango and thousand island. Very nice. The salad choice was a very tasty salad, deliciously dressed and quite large with avocado slices on top, resting on a crispy breaded fried queso fresco, with plantain chips.
Choices for dinner were a fish and a chicken dish. We had the fish- a whole deep fried branzini smothered in tasty tomatoes with a rather bland side dish of rice and beans with some bacon.
The fish was very fresh and delicious.
The white wine offering was a "Knife and Fork" Chardonnay from California. Quite good for $5. The dessert was ok- we are not dessert lovers. It was a hard (?frozen) brownie with a coconut layer, smothered in vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.
All in all a nice dinner, beautifully presented for $30.
The menu will be the same for the month of January.
