Candied Garlic Recipe

I'm planning to roast some marrow bones, and would love to serve them with candied garlic (as is done at a local restaurant--it's yummy), but I'm pretty mystified as to how to do the garlic. It's served in small ramekin with softened cloves of garlic in a sweetish sauce. Any ideas?

"Quick & Easy Tsukemono" has a recipe for garlic in honey - the cloves are peeled, covered with honey, and stored for a month.

My guess is that the garlic is roasted, which would be very sweet.

To roast, cut off the tops of the head to expose the cloves, sprinkle with a little olive oil, and place in a 400 degree oven for about one hour....delicious!

Thanks. I've roasted garlic often, and the consistency is absolutley what I'm looking for. But then there's the sweet/garlicky sauce I can't quite figure out how to accomplish.
