darkness of cookie sheets and texture

I was baking some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies the other night and had a strange outcome. Using the same batter and baking time in the same oven, some cookies came out soft and chewy while others were fluffy and crisp on the outside. The only difference seemed to be which cookie sheet they were baked on.

The soft chewy cookies were on the lighter silver jelly roll and the fluffy crisp ones were on my dark cookie sheet. Both are non-stick Calphalon. Any ideas if this was in fact the case.

I have a Jenn Air gas oven which was on the convection bake mode. They claim you can do three sheets at a time.

Cooks Illustrated has said in serveral tests that dark pans will caramelize cake and cookies more, and they generally like that, but of course that would depend on what you're aiming for.
