Breve Latte

amkirkland Jan 14, 2007 11:50 AM

It's a sleepless night, so I'm doing some copious posting. I love the emails so I don't have to keep up anymore. The question is this. Does anyone get their lattes breve? This seems outrageous to me, but I remember serving a few of them a day in my coffee shop days. Actually served a heavy cream latte once. At least it's lo carb...

    my husband does this.

it makes me puke, personally, but he loves it.

a heavy cream latte makes me dizzy just thinking about.

The calorie count is outrageous. If you drink one, you might consider it a meal or a meal and a half.

I actually drank a heavy cream latte once. Just once. I don't like coffee drinks at all, but that one I could just about get used to. Given the calories that must be in that (yeah, low carb! har har) I figured I had better not get hooked on those. Alas, I don't think there's any way I can really enjoy coffee (I love the aroma, though, just can't stand the taste). Just as well, for if I did I'd probably be buying too many "FourBucks" drinks....

I worked with someone who lost a lot of weight on Atkins. He drank a breve latte at least once a day.

The thought had never even occured to me. It reminds me of a Biggest Loser commercial where the woman admitted to using half and half instead of milk for her cereal.

for lo-carb? I hope these people realize that the other HALF of half and half contains lactose.

No, it was a soundbite selected to shock the audience. The nutritionist's face as she admitted that habit was one between horror and disgust.
