January 25 is Robert Burns birthday which is celebrated by Scots around the world with a "Burns Supper" Apparently in SF the Edinburgh Castle Pub is doing one Jan 20. Has anyone been to this place before or, better yet, to this event at this place? I hear haggis is part of the menu.

We've been a couple of times. Definitely a fun event, but it's a Burns Night, not a supper. They put out some munchies, but not really a meal. Moreover, the haggis at this one is to be avoided (and I LIKE good haggis, of the sort I've had in Glasgow). Whoever makes the one they serve makes it way too livery. Very unpleasant.

Go enjoy the poetry, crowds, beer, etc. but eat elsewhere. Note -- there is little seating at this event -- they move out nearly all the bar stools to make more room.
