I just live this place! I was close by and decided to stop for dinner last night at 9pm. For a Friday, it was about 1/3 full so we got a two top with the huge leather chairs.

We decided to go with the 3-course tasting.
1-amuse bouche: a savory pot de creme creation in a a shot glass. I had to use the skinny end of my spoon to get every bit.
2-halibut sashimi
3-poached egg with cream of wheat and creme fraiche (my husband had a beet salad-they are great about accomodating dietary issues)
4-mushroom soup with shrimp
5-I had veal cheeks/sweetbread with mushrooms, green beans and squash (husband had seared scallops)
6-watermelon granita
7-passionfuit juice with tangerine pieces, pineapple sorbet and carmelized banana.

Yes this was a three-course meal and for $30, a fantastic deal. To top it off, the Avalon Cab was great and because he felt bad about not greeting us sooner than he did out great waiter Daniel also gave us each a glass or muscato. Fabulous.

I am interested in trying Baco night on Tuesdays. The chef also came by to say hello.

The only complaint would be that cigarette smoke does come in from the lounge.
Two weeks ago I had the six-course menu and there were a few repeats last night but they were so yummy it was forgivable.
Next time I will fast and go for the 9 course but I think I will wait a bit so I don't get repeats.
