Oatmeal scones

Tried the oatmeal scones recipe in the New Best Recipe book and they are fabulous. I made one batch, cutting them in eights, but the next batch I made I baked the round disk of dough whole for ten minutes and then cut the dough into 25-30 diamonds before I finished browning them, a la biscotti baking. Of course, I spiced up the recipe by adding orange rind, cinnamon, dried cranberries, and toasted nuts (walnuts are the best so far).

They have turned out to be the best snack, particularly great reheated in the toaster oven.
