Vancouver Sun's Top 10 Restaurants
I'm a frequent visitor to Vancouver and would be interested in hearing how fellow hounds rank this list.
Restaurants called out:
The Best: Rare
La Regalade Cote Mer
FigMint ~ Excellant, it is a big room so if you do not go at a busy time it may feel lonely
Salt ~ just serves meat and cheese, good to go at least once but I often make my own cheese plates from the same places that theirs comes from so I dont like to spend money on it.
Ocean Club ~ hmmm, not really worth the drive over the bridge
Kingyo ~ Excellant, the Japanese Ceaser Salad and the Black Cod are amazing
Crave~havent been, but I think that it is the same chef that used to be at the Four Seasons ( I could be wrong, so feel free to correct me)
Sanafir ~ I liked it the first time but not the second. I think it was the atmosphere I didnt like the second time, so I will give it another try.
Beyond~Love it, ususally I go to the lounge. Great place to hang out with a bottle of wine and phyllo prawns..not to sceney so you actually can have a conversation with your guests.
On that list of NEW BEST is would highly recommend: Kingyo.
KINGYO is run by Ex Guu employees - they have done a wonderful job with the space, the menu and the food! It is a Japanese Izakya stepped up a knotch.
