Eclano question

So I hadn't heard until now that the chef, the guy who I believe had originally been at Scalinatella, left. Has anyone been there in the past couple of months? Is it still any good? I know there've been some board supporters...

  1. I heard the same thing, but haven't been in a while myself. I did enjoy it the times I went though.

In semi-related Salem Street/North End restaurant news, La Galleria 33's website finally appears to be up:

    1. The Chef at Eclano is Patrick Duffy. He is great. Previously worked at Mamma's, Scalinatella, Via. Food is great

      1. I didn't love the cooking under the old regime (thought it was dull and pricey), but I haven't been back since Mr. Duffy took over.

I know this post is kind of old but I checked out the Eclano site and the menu offerings looked exciting, I am thinking about making a res for Sunday night with my parents, who will be visiting from NYC. MC Slim JB, have you been back since Chef Dufffy took over? Also, has anyone else been here in recent weeks/months and have any good insights? many thanks.

        2. I think the food has suffered since Dan deCarpis left. But I also felt that the food slipped when Duffy took over for him at Via Valverde. Maybe it just isn't fair to compare the two chefs?

I always seem to be the bearer of bad news when it comes to chefs leaving. Chef Duffy is no longer there. They have some unknown man in the kitchen now. The place was packed last night for restaurant week. I haven't had any of the food since Chef Mystery Man came on board. Don't worry Rubee! I'll write!!!! :)
