Short Ribs (DFW)

Now that Standard has closed where are the best short ribs in town? Anyone make them like Standard's? Where did the Standard chef go?

    From what I've read, Tim Byres recently signed on as chef de cuisine at The Mansion.

      I ate at Mercury a couple of months ago and they had a "24 hour short rib", wrapped and slow cooked for 24 hrs. Very, very good. Don't recall if it was a special or is on the fall/winter menu. I concur, Standard's were the best.

        Had some excellent short ribs at Craft about 2 months ago.

          Toulouse has excellent short ribs and the ribs with eggs for brunch on weekends aint bad either.....

              Short ribs at Craft are spectacular. In fact, I think Craft, in general, is pretty good if you don't mind the casual service.

                Mercury for Valintines day had a short ribs appitizer that was good but not great. I rate them above Craft but well below Standard. They were not crisp/well done on the outside like standard's and a bit fatty for my taste--although others may like the extra fat.

                I plan on hitting the Mansion as soon as possible to see if they have Tim's shortribs there, if only as an appitizer. Until then, Ive been enjoying Bijioux. No shortribs but great everything else.

                Toulouse didnt have the shortribs the 2 nights i went.

                  The Masion at Turtle Creek. I had them about three weeks ago! YUMMY!
